Harry Thompson6th February 1960-7th November 2005 Harry Thompson played every single Scotts game from 1979 onwards - through a combination of fortune (the few games he intended to miss were mysteriously rained off, and both his children were born midweek), reasonable physical health and as he once put it, 'severe mental illness' - until contracting a virulent form of lung cancer in the spring of 2005, despite never having had so much as a puff of a cigarette in his entire life. |
